There are as many recipes for cranberry margaritas out there as there are lobbyists in Washington. Unlike the lobbyists though, choice among many options is a good thing for cocktail connoisseurs. You'll find recipes that call for cranberries or for sweet and sour mix (aka high fructose corn syrup). I don't know about you but I don't often have fresh cranberries sitting around just waiting for the addition of tequila. To be practical, we're going to try a recipe that calls for cranberry juice, because you've already got that in the fridge for making cosmopolitans, yes?
The cranberry margarita:
- 1 1/4 oz tequila
- 1 oz orange juice
- 1oz triple sec
- 2 1/4 oz cranberry juice
Shake on ice and strain into a margarita or martini glass with a sugar rim. Garnish with a lime slice or twist!
I found this recipe on RecipeZaar here. I wish I had found this one sooner, this is one tasty cocktail.
