Cocktail of the Week!

by Jack Email

I know that since we discussed the Sazerac a few weeks ago that you all have a bottle of absinthe on hand now. You've probably also been wondering what else you can do with absinthe. Well I have a solution to your dilemma: The Absinthe Frappe!

This is how we make this simple yet refreshing cocktail here at JRSB:

To a Collins glass filled with crushed ice add

  • 1oz absinthe
  • Set your absinthe spoon on the glass and place on it 1 sugar cube
  • Slowly pour club soda over the sugar cube, dissolving it into the drink
  • Top off with club soda

It's easy to make and just as thirst quenching on a hot day as a gin tonic. You can trust me.

Most recipes for this frappe involve a lot of stirring and shaking. I'm a firm believer in bang for the buck and I don't think you're gonna get more out of the extra effort in this case.
