Always look on the bright side of life.
"We don't want nobody tellin' us what to do, we don't want nobody pushing us around. We wanna be free, we wanna be free to do what we wanna do. We wanna be free to ride, an' we wanna be free to ride our machines without being hassled by the man. And we wanna get loaded. And we wanna have a good time. And that's what we're gonna do. We're gonna have a good time, we're gonna have a party."
[Peter Fonda as Heavenly Blues in The Wild Angels (1966)]

Since we've been loading you down with heavy topics, I think it appropriate to throw in something light and easy. This clip is from he late '60s - Peter Fonda, and his declaration to "The Man". Written by Charles Griffith and directed by Roger Corman, I suspect that this famous monologue has more to it than meets the eye. Corman was no outside square to a hip '60's culture but he also saw it from a distance and perspective that allowed him to know when to take it seriously and when it couldn't be.
Generations were clashing, just as the United States was clashing with the North Vietnamese. We didn't like the direction things were going and we wanted change. This is the core of rebellion. To be free to do differently.
Marlon Brando (The Wild One, 1953), in response to Mildred's question "What are you rebelling against Johnny?" asks, "Whaddya got?"
Does rebellion need a focus or is it an end to itself?
